This is how to run firefox over ssh.

Check if your sshd server has X11 forwarding enabled. Open /etc/ssh/sshd_config and check for:

X11Forwarding yes

Remember to restart sshd, if you did not have it set before!

Now log in via ssh, if -X does not work try the -Y flag! (C is for compression, should make things faster)

ssh -X -C user@hostname firefox -no-remote
